Update 8/29/2007
Dear Classmate,
Well the reunion is rapidly approaching. We certainly
are pleased at the number of requests we have been
receiving about updates and particulars as they pertain
to the events we have scheduled. This really is getting
exciting; we're anticipating a very large turn out.
Welcome to the 35 of you who have joined our emailing
list since May.
Before getting into the events themselves, I'd wish
to inform you that it would make everything go more
smoothly if you would please RSVP.
Mike Marinaro has done a splendid job on the site and
is prepared to accumulate the tally of your responses.
It is set up so that you can let us know what
event(s) you intend to go to, and at the same time, help
us to plan accordingly. Thanks for your participation.
Friday Evening, September 28: The current plan
is to meet at Chuck's Steak House in Danbury. Depending
on the number of people attending, we should have a
section of the bar available to us after the dinner
crowd empties out; So at this time the only costs would
be your own bar tab; this may change if we have a larger
than expected turnout and need to rent space. Should
that be the case, there will be a nominal charge. But
for now that's what's intended. This event will start
officially at 8 pm, but I hear rumors that some of us
may get a head start.
Saturday Night, September 29: The main event
will held at Capellaro's Grove http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=ieocxdcab.0.z6k9eecab.8wlk8sbab.14&ts=S0277&p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.capgrove.com.
The function will start at 8:15 pm and run until 11:30
pm. A buffet dinner will be served, together with a cash
bar. Entertainment is currently being lined up with a
60's/ 70's type music being played for your enjoyment
and pleasure. The cost of this event will be $55.00
per person.
Sunday Brunch; September 30: After much
consideration of weather conditions, classmates from out
of town, needing to leave, etc, we have booked Widow
Browns 120 Federal Road, Danbury. We chose this place as
attribute to our recently departed classmate Karen
Showah, whose sister Aura is giving us a very special
welcome in Karen's memory. For brunch we'll having,
omelette's, pancakes to order as well as traditional
breakfast eggs w/meat choice, toast/rolls,
juice/coffee/tea for $12.00 per person and that
includes the gratuity. The restaurant will open 1 hour
early to accommodate just us. This event will start at
10:30 am.
Speaking for all those involved it setting this
weekend, we look forward to seeing ya'll in September.
Kindest Regards
Michael Zarour
P.S. To keep things simple all events will be cash
only!
While you're at our website please review the list of
people we are missing email or other contact with,
please help us out in contacting them about the reunion.

| The Passing of Karen
Showah |

Submitted by: Jeff O'hora
It is with sadness that I learned of Karen's
passing. For those of you who like me missed the Obit,
I've included it here at the end.
I shared a few classes and a study with Karen over
the DHS years. I have this picture of Karen in my mind
and it's of a pretty girl with a permanent smile. She
just had one of those "melt you" smiles. I was really
looking forward to seeing Karen again. It's quite
obvious from the Obit that Karen touched and left her
mark on many lives. -Jeff
Karen Ann (Showah) Kallstrom
Mrs. Karen Kallstrom, 57, of Woodbury, wife of
devoted husband Gunnar Kallstrom, passed away in her
home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with
cancer.
Karen was born September 17, 1949 in Bridgeport,
daughter of Nazira Showah and the late John J. Showah.
Karen devoted her entire career to the mental health and
nursing fields. She was Director of Nursing at Fairfield
Hills Hospital and later Director of Patient Care
Services at Connecticut Valley Hospital before her
retirement. Karen also served as Director of Planning,
Health Information Management,
Accreditation/Certification, and Performance Improvement
for CVH. Karen, a 1967 Danbury High School graduate,
received her Registered Nurse certification at
Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing, a bachelor's
degree at WestConn and a Masters of Science in Nursing
at Yale.
Besides her husband, Karen is survived by her devoted
mother, Nazira Showah; two beloved sons: Jesse and Nate
Peterkin; two loving sisters: Aura Showah with friend
Brent Huxley, and Jeanette Kenney with husband Ed; and
her adored nephews: Jason Beck and Jon Wilson with wife,
Melissa and great niece, Lilly Elizabeth. Karen loved to
travel and cherished hosting family gatherings.. She was
compassionate, joyful, and always lived for the moment.
Karen touched many lives and will be greatly missed by
her family and friends.
The Rite of Burial will take place on Monday at 10:30
a.m. in St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 125
Kohanza St., Danbury, with the Rev. Fr. George Alberts,
officiating. Interment will take place at the direction
of the family.
The family will receive friends in the Jowdy- Kane
Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Sunday
from 5 to 8 p.m. The Trisagion prayer service will take
place in the funeral home on Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m.
The family requests that any memorial contributions
be made to Ann's Place Cancer Support Services of
Danbury. http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=ieocxdcab.0.96k9eecab.8wlk8sbab.14&ts=S0277&p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.annsplace.org.

Well, our BIG 40th Reunion is almost here, just a
couple of weeks away! It's hard to believe that it has
been 40 years since High School!
At this time I'm not sure if I will be able to make
it to the reunion or not, it depends on a lot of
different things.
Finances for one, and also my wife just started a new
job last week and not sure if she can get any time off.
I hope to get up there one way or another, but if I
don't ya'll have a great time and take pictures, email
them to me and I will post on website.
Make sure you RSVP
on the website so we all can see who is planning on
attending.
If you have a business this is a great place to
