    A Tribute To Elvis

ElvisWho can forget "The King of Rock and Roll"? Elvis was an actor, a singer and musician. His movies kind of all had the same plot and I never thought he was much of a guitar player... but you gotta love his singing!

Presley's style was called "Rockabilly" and was a fusion of country music and rythm & blues. With his own one-of -a-kind hip movements and flamboyant stlye of dress, Elvis soon became a cultural icon and there was no stopping him!

Elvis and PriscillaWhile we were in our senior year of high school, Elvis married Priscilla in May of 1967 in Las Vegas.

In August of 1977 we lost Elvis but his songs will live on forever! I can remember excactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news that Evlis had died.

"The King" was only 42 years old when he left us. Evis Presley was unique and irreplacable!

Thanks to YouTube there are many video clips of Elvis available to watch. Click on the link below to watch Elvis in action.

Just to give you an idea, here are some numbers. I started the website in Jan. 2004. There have been an average of $100 per year donations so far. Ads on website and in newsletter have brought in $25 per year.

    Here are the expenses involved..

Web hosting fees, domain name, newsletter opt-in list and message board comes to $400.00 per year alone. That's not counting software updates, computer hardware maintenance and time spent working on the website and newsletter. You do the math...the expenses are much more than the income. Please help! A special thanks goes out to all of you who have made donations, it's really appreciated.

    What is it?

Silly question isn't it? Of course everyone knows what this is. It was a really high-tech invention at the time! This little plastic adapter was necessary to play your 45 rpm records. You had to pop it in the hole of the 45 to fit over the smaller spindle which fit 78 rpm and 33 rpm records.
