  • Let's Get Creative

It's crunch time...we need to get creative and think outside of the box! There are many ways to locate missing classmates. Here are a just a few.

    • Google them...just type in their name in Google or Yahoo or any other search engine and you just may find them.
    • Do you know someone from another area school? Immaculate, Bethel, Brookfield, New Fairfield, etc. They may know where some of our missing folks are.
    • How about the Fire Dept. or Police Dept. or the Mailman...they are a good source of information.
    • Even the old fashion phone book might work!
    • There are lists and directories everywhere...Associations, Unions, Church, Boyscouts, etc.
    • There's always the public library.

    Networking Opportunities

Many of us have businesses of our own with products or services that the rest of our classmates may need. We have a website...let's use it to network and support one another. We could even offer discounts to class members.

I'll start the ball rolling. My business is website design. I offer affordable website design services and I will take $100 off the setup and design fee for your website if you are a DHS alumni. You can visit my website here.

Send me your business information and I will set up a networking page on our website. Text links will be FREE on the website, if you want to have a graphic ad the cost is ONLY $20.00 per month. That will include ads on both the class of 1966 and 1967 websites and an ad in both newsletters. Money received from ad sales will help support our website.

    Mark Your Calendars

Well I have some wonderful news. The date has finally been set for our 40th year Class reunion. It will be held on Saturday September 29, 2007 at Capellaro's Grove http://www.capgrove.com/ so mark your calendars!!!!!

As we get closer to the dates, you will be notified of the exact details of each event. Currently we are planning a social event for the Friday night before (September 28th) being coordinated by Joe Pannozzo jpannoz@ aol.c om . Anyone who wishes to assist Joe in that event, please contact him directly.

Joe Scalzo will be in charge of the Saturday night event at Capellaro's Grove. Joe is going to need some help and support in making this a successful event. Any volunteers should contact Joe directly at either joes@jmw.c om or joes1963@gmail.com

It is with great pleasure and relief that I can now inform you that Jeff O'Hora jeff@jeffohora.com has volunteered to put together a Sunday ( September 30,) event. I am delighted to have him setup and take on that task.

Any comments or suggestions you may have for any event should be posted on the message board which located at the DHS Class of 1967 website http://www.dhs1967.org which is being hosted by Mike Marinaro. Mike by the way is doing a fabulous job keeping that website up and running. Each event leader and I, will be checking those postings, on regular basis, to review your thoughts and comments. Hopefully we will be able to incorporate most of them in each event.....

Ok.....so now we have wheels in motion and dates set for the reunion...volunteers to run each event....and you're sitting back thinking...Geez what can I do to help?

Well here ya go...a task for each of you......please review the list of classmates on our website. We still are missing their contact information. I ask each of you (for your homework this week) to choose one name on the list and make an effort to contact them. Get their contact information and pass it on to Mike Marinaro mmarinaro@nc.rr.com or me, zarour@msn.com for inclusion to our mailing list.....now that's not to hard is it?

Thanks in advance for your efforts

    Warm Kindest Regards

    Michael Zarour

    Anthony "Tony" Johnson

Here's a little something I came across about one of our classmates. It's not his whole story...but it will give you an idea what Tony's been up to.

    Reverend Anthony Johnson
    Affiliated Minister

From 1996 until 2005, Rev. "Tony" Johnson was minister of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Essex County in Orange, New Jersey, a multiracial congregation drawing members from throughout Essex and Hudson Counties. He has also served in parish and community (non-parish) ministries in New York City, New Jersey and metropolitan Los Angeles and is known for his willingness to get out into the streets and know the community in which he is working. One result of this outreach was the institution of an after-school arts program for children in the low- income neighborhood surrounding the Essex County church’s meetinghouse in the city of Orange.

You can contact Tony via e-mail: apjohnson@uu ma.org

The above article was reprinted from The Community Church of New York Unitarian Universalist website. www.ccny.org
