| 40th Reunion for Class of 1966 |
 |
|
 Many of us were friends
with members of the previous class. Their 40th
reunion will be held
on Saturday, September 16, 2006 from 5PM to 12PM
at Capellaro’s Grove in their Three Oaks Banquet
Facility, 42 Vail Road in Bethel, Ct. The current
thinking is that the dress for Sat. evening will
be "business casual". Also, there will be a picnic on
Sunday, September 17, on Lake Candlewood. So save
both dates!
Visit their brand new Official Website for the DHS
Class of 1966 for more information. By the way, if you
know someone from The Class of 1966 who is not
listed on their website...please contact them or send
information to: info@dhs1966.org.
At last count there were 168 people paid to attend
Saturday night and 65 for Sunday! These folks have
done an outstanding job of preparing for their
reunion. When we are ready to plan ours we should
pick their brains for ideas. I have the contact info for
their reunion committee members, so keep this in
mind when the time comes.

| Winky Dink |
 |
|

Okay...who remembers Winky Dink? This was one of
my all time favorite TV shows. I had the magic screen
that you put on the TV and you could draw on it to
help get Winky Dink out of tight jams. If he needed a
ladder to climb, all you had to do was draw it on the
screen. This was actually the first interactive TV
show!
You could buy the green screen that stuck to the TV
for about 50-cents! The deluxe kit cost about Two or
three dollars. What a deal! Any more Winky Dink fans
out there?
What were some of your other favorite TV shows?
Here is a trivia question for you. Winky Dink had a
dog, what was his dog's name?

This is the 4th issue of our newsletter. Looking back
at the stats, only 70% of the people who received
the newsletter actually opened the email. That
means 30% are not even reading the newsletter.
What can I do to make this newsletter better? Please
send me your ideas. Something that I would like to
see (I mentioned it before) is a regular feature about
how Danbury has changed since we were in High
School. I'm sure someone who still lives in the area
would be willing to write these articles. Where are
you?
Any other ideas you may have are welcome...please
contact me and help me get the stats up to 90%
opened emails.

| Our 40th Reunion |
 |
|
Before you know it our big 40th reunion will be here!
I'm not sure if we even have an official reunion
committee?
Peter Markle from the class of 1966
suggested that we should send some scouts to their
reunion to get some ideas for ours. Contact him if
you are interested, his e-mail is markle@townisp.com. He
may even be able to get you in at a discounted rate!
I think this is an excellent suggestion.
We have a pretty good start since this website has
been up and running for a couple of years. Let me
know when the planning gets started, I will help
where I can.

Memories |

Double-Sessions at the old
high school on
White Street. We used to get home so late from
school...what a drag that was!
Long School Bus Rides, or should I say
adventures? One time we drove our bus-driver so
crazy he drove us straight to the police station and
our parents had to come pick us up!
Dances at The Elks were always fun and
exciting. I loved the "Battle of the Bands" also.
Parking. Who could forget steaming up the
windows in the car at various "secret parking
locations".
These are just a few of the things that come to mind
when I remember my High School days. Why not
share some of your memories? Send an e-mail to me
and I will post in this newsletter and website. You
can remain anonymous if you prefer, just let me know.
