Hi Mike:
I'm not so shy any more. Here is my story to add to your's and Joe's. Hopefully it will encourage others not to be shy.
I went to Norwalk Tech after high school. That lasted two weeks as I was in the Yale University Algebra I (New Math) class in my freshman year. Today they call that experiment a joke, but it curbed my style in Math. Although Tech offered remedial math, it was expected to be known in physics class. I decided not to waste my dads money so I went to Abbot Tech as a post grad. for almost a year and then entered the job market.
I ran the Candlewood Valley Bus Company in Brookfield at the age of 21 and worked my way up to a school bus fleet safety director for a nationwide fleet. I got married and had a son. Took on two daughters (step) with the marriage. Later I turned my knowledge of school bus maintenance into a mobile mechanic's maintenance business . Got divorced after 16 yrs. (My neighbor was always borrowing my tools and not bringing them back, he decided to borrow my wife). I'm thankful he did not bring her back. I closed the business after divorce as I couldn't fight the recession and the divorce.
As the good Lord would have it, in 1989 I began to do Ministry work ending up today as an ordained Minister at a church in Brookfield. I am remarried told my wife to be how I had experience raising step daughters and now have 9 grandchildren (step) from the two marriages.
Now, my wife Elsa and I have a business putting coupons into the local mail in the greater Danbury area with SuperCoups.
My biggest thrill is to serve God and help people. I guess it was always there from when Kathy Seymour put in the Main Street School yearbook notes on how I "looked on a little bit disgusted" at some kids that were smoking.
I hope this helps
